    There was once a man who lived in Maree, and his name was Mr. Grealy.

    There was once a man who lived in Marree, and his name was Mr Grealy. He was a very courageous man. In Carrach a Droidhín a spirit used to be seen every single night, which used to kill everyone who would pass there from setting-sun till dawn. The man whom I have mentioned was coming home from Oranmore and it happened that he was drunk. His friends advised him to go home by Clarenbridge fearing he would meet the spirit and it would kill him. He would not take their advice but started on his journey home.
