Cure for hiccoughs is to give the person who has the hiccoughs a fright by pouring cold water down his sleeve. Cures for the whooping cough are to give the child who has the whooping cough the ferret's leavings or the first man that passes you on a white horse if you ask him hoe would you cure the whooping cough and whatever he said is supposed to cure it.
