    My father Thomas Collins said that when a bird is getting "struck" he is carried to a good singing bird and the case is closed on every side. The bird is left in the darkness in a quiet place in a way that he can hear the other bird's song and if they leave him there for a week or two. Then he may be struck.
    My mother said that in the spring-time the hens get sickness and some of them die and the people put sup sulphur into their mess. Sometimes it cures them and more time it cures does not.
