  1. Here is a very good cure for a cold. Get a saucepan, clean it and put some oatmeal into it, and half a cup of buttermilk. Then leave it on the fire to boil for about quarter of an hour and keep stirring all the time.
    Take it up then, and put three spoonfuls of sugar; and half a cup of milk on it, and take this before you go to bed at night, and you will find that your cold will be gone in the morning.
