  1. One very good cure for a cold is first get even nettle tops, wash them, put them in a vesel to boil, with half a glass of vinegar, two spoonfuls of glouber salts, four spoonfuls of carroways seeds, and half a glass of whisky and lave them down to boil for twenty minutes.
    Then lift them up and strain the juice into a jug, and cover it for fourteen hours. Then take too spoonfuls of it every morning before your breakfast, and very soon your cold will disappear.
