  1. Long long ago there was a woman living in Drummin. She was out of milk and butter for a long time. One day she got a cow and a few days after the cow calved. In a week after the cow had calved she made a churning. She went to town that day and in the morning she cleaned and washed the churn well and poured in the milk so that it would be ready for churning when she would come home from town. When she came home she started making the churning. She was a good while churning and no butter came on the churn dash. She poured in some hot water but it was no good. She was churning away nearly the whole night and no sign of the butter was coming. At last she said she would
