  1. Long long ago there was a man living in Cushlough named John Walsh. He went one snowy night after his sheep to see where were they. When he went up to the hill he saw his sheep grazing away. When he was coming home, he heard great noise after him so he looked back but saw nothing. He went away and he heard the great noise like a motor car after him. He kept in one side to let it pass and he heard no more until he was going into his house. He heard the same noise again and he did not know what to do. So he ran into his own house very excitedly and he was not able to speak for a half a hour.
