  1. Long ago people used to go out working for two or three hours before they would eat their breakfast. The people in the houses used to put raw potatoes in the fire and toast them. Then they would bring the potatoes and water out to the field for their breakfast.
    For their dinner they would have a pot of stirabout, and the same for there supper. No tables used to be used then. They would eat from baskets on the floor. When Christmas used to come they would buy a quarter of tea for Christmas day and until that time again they would not drink a drop of tea. If there was an old person in the house they might have a small grain of tea
