  1. 1. When Michael Scahill of Carramore was twelve years he went to a fair in Aughagower with his father for his first time. The fair was held in the fair-green. His father had a five year old calf to sell and a cow. There used not be many jobbers or much cattle at fairs those times.
    2. He was on the fair with his father for about two hours trying to get the calf sold. After awhile a jobber came along and was giving five shillings for a calf five years old. Michael Scahill's father would not sell him for that. After another while another man came up to him and this man was giving four shillings. Michael Scahill's father would not sell him yet.
