  1. There is a fort in Islandeady. The people down there call it Cannon's fort. It is in the shape of a circle in a field and there are bushes around the outside of the fort. There is a hole in the middle of it but no one ever ventured to go down. The people near that fort see fairies going down and coming up out of the hole. Lights of different colours are seen there every wintry night and the people are afraid passing it. There is a hollow inside and nothing grows there but briars and ferns.
