  1. One night a man named James O'Donnell was coming from a wake at the hour of one o'clock. He often heard his father and mother say that it was not right to come from a wake by yourself. As he was a courageous man he said he would go alone.The wake house, was only a short distance below his own house. He left the wake house by himself and went up through a field making for his own house at the same time whistling away. When he was just a few fields from his own house he heard great hammering beside him. He was not afraid up to this but as the night was dark that made
