  1. In the years gone by nearly all the people used to go in their feet, with the exception of a few that could make clogs. Some old men could make clogs because they used to see their fathers before them making them. This is how they used to make them. They used to buy the upper and wood and then they could make the clogs from that. Paddy McGing of Croaghrim could make clogs, and he used to make well on them because he used to make them for all the village.
    2. The people used to be awfully careful of their clogs, because when they would be going to Mass or to town they used
