  1. In the famine days people used to leave their dead outside the front door until the death cart would come and take them to a place called Padoch a few miles below Westport town. The cart of dead bodies would be threw into one grave. There was a little relief for the people when some of the landlords got meal from America to distribute amongst the people.
    A lot of lords got meal and stored it up in barns. They used to leave the meal in the barns for many months so it would get rotten. Then they would give it to the half starved people. The poor people used to eat it because they would eat anything they would get since they were so starved. The reason why the lords
