  1. There used to be alot of straw boys at weddings about thirty years ago. When one gang would be gone they would meetanother gand coming. All the straw-boys get stout when they come in. All the people and children stand up on chairs, and half of them remain looking in the door so that the strawboys will jhave enough place for dancing. The captain always keeps an eye on the young lads for fear they would take the hat off the straw boys. In the gang there is always a very small person whoms they pretend to be a girl. She is second in the gang. The Captain is always the biggest of
