  1. Suffering During Famine
    In the days of the famine a family named Geraghty's that lived in Ballinlough suffered a lot from the hunger. Sometimes they used to be a fortnight without eating any food. They did not work for a long time because they were weakened out. They had not much turf and they were not able to go to the bog for it. There were nine in the family in that house and they suffered a lot with the hunger. It is said that they were the family in Ballinlough that suffered most during
