  1. In the year eighteen eighty the boys of Lankill school had a lot of games. The first one was boxing. They would keep boxing for a long time and always someone got the worst of it. None of the small ones played. They kept looking on the boys from eleven up that were boxing. The best boxer was a boy called Thomas Keane of bloonskill.
    The next game was wrestling. Nearly every one of them was good at that but a lot of them (was) got black eyes at it.
