  1. In the penal days was a priest named Father Gibbons. He used to say mass in a small quarry in Creagán Darach. There was a big hole in the side of the quarry. He used to hide there in the daytime and at night he used to go into a house called Hastings in the same village. In the quarry he had two big rocks put standing and a flag over that. There was a whitethorn bush growing over the quarry. There were sharp stones out in front of the quarry and the people say he used to stand on those stones while he was saying mass.
