  1. In the Penal days when the priests were banished out of this country there was only allowed one priest in every parish. There were a lot of other priests too who were hiding among the rocks and saying mass. They would not go and many of them had very narrow escapes from being killed. There was one priest and he was saying mass at a place called [?] His name was Father Gibbons. He had a small place place erected for saying mass. He got up a big heap of stones and a big flag over them and a big flag up to the back. There was a whitethorn bush growing inside in the hollow and there was a spring
