- To relieve a sprain.
Put the white of an egg in a saucer and beat it up in a lump of alum till it becomes a curd. Then rub the sprain well with it.
A cure for wounds and cuts.
Bathe the cut or wound for a long time in cold water. The blood should be stopped at once from flowing. Then get a panful of burning coals and sprinkle upon them some common brown sugar and hold the wound or cut in the smoke and in a minute or two the pain will be gone and in a few days the wound or cut will be healed up.
