  1. A Schoolday in 1890.
    Schooldays in the year 1890 were something similar to the schooldays at present with the exception of the different subject. Mr. Reidy was the principal teacher in Lankill school at that time.
    It was some time after this that Irish was introduced into schools. The pupils had to be in at ten o'clock then as now. The first subject was Writing English in the desks and the last subject was Catechism. Every pupil was let home at half past three.
    The method of providing fire then was different to now. Everybody had to bring two
