  1. Fights at fairs
    At fairs long ago there used to be fights between people, and Aughagower never lost having fights at fairs.
    During the day when the cattle used to be sold the people used to go into the shops drinking. There were no public houses those days as there are now but they had tents selling everything.
    When the men would go into a tent they used to be arguing about something. They would be put out of the tents then and they'd be fighting outside for a good while. Those fights were called " Faction Fights "
