  1. About fifty years ago there was an old woman living near Ayle She had only one cow and that cow had only one horn.
    The woman had as much butter as all the other neighbours put together. All the other neighbours used to be churning and churning and still they could get no butter.
    The neighbours found out at last that there was a man in Castlebar who could tell them who took their butter. One day they all went to him and they gave him a small sum of money and he said that there was a woman who had a cow with one horn who
