  1. One night a man was coming from town about twelve o' clock. When he was passing the Hangman's Bridge a black dog followed him and began snarling at him. This man was very courageous so he turned on the dog and the dog ran and when he went a bit he turned into a man and then he suddenly disappeared. The man was never afraid at night until but he never passed that bridge by himself again.
