  1. A few day before St. Stephen's day, one boy from my place buys six false faces, and he gathers five other boys to prepare for that day. They then dress in white clothes, and they set off, and go into every house to gather money, and they repeat this rhyme:-
    The wren, the wren, the king of all birds,
    St. Stephen's day was caught in the flood,
    Although she is little, her family is great,
    Rise up landlady, and give is a treat"
