  1. The old people say there was witchery in this place some time ago. They had power to take butter from each other. It was said that some old woman used to watch the neighbours cous and milk them at the dawn of day on the first day of May. They would not let a drop of milk go out on that day or give a coal out of the fire or allow a man to go out with his pipe kindled on that
