  1. The names of the wild animals in the mountains around here are rabbits, hares, foxes, goats, badgers, rats and lizards. The rabbit sleeps in a hole in the ground called a burrow. The hares make nice nests in long rushes or grass. The fox makes a nice nest under a big rock called a den. The goats sleep under big rocks and cliffs. The badgers sleep under big sandy sandpits. The rats sleep in a nice bunch of soft heath or under a bank. The lizards sleep in some cosy spot such as under a rock or hide in the grass or heather.
