  1. In olden times people made candles. First of all they would melt some fat in a tin and then they would get rags and twist them and dip them into the far and then placed them in a cool place to dry. When they were dry they were very stiff and were called "Fáidéogs". They were not as thick as the candles we have to day but they showed much brighter light. People often make a "Fáidéog" in this place now if they happen to run short of parafin-oil or candles.
