  1. Some years ago a ship set out from Galway for America. The first few days of its journey was very successful but about the fifth day a shark attacked the boat. The captain did not know what to do, so he knew the boat was in danger, so an old man on board told him to throw out something that would be of no use to him and it would satisfy the shark for some time. There was a goat on board that somebody was taking to America with them and they said "throw it out". The captain did so and the shark went away. Next day he came back again and the
