  1. When a hen begins to clock I get from ten to fifteen eggs and I get a small box and put hay or straw into it. Then I fix the eggs into it. I put the hen in the box and cover her to keep her quiet. I take her out of the box every day to feed her and give her a drink. When the hen is lying on the eggs three weeks and the birds begin to leave the eggs she gets very hot and has to be taken out twice a day.
