  1. There are the ruins of an old forge in the village of Tavanagh, Parish of Straide, Barony of Gallen. It belonged to Richard Bourke. There is one window and one door in it. There is a big fire place in it and a water -stone. This is a big round stone with a hole in the middle. It was for cooling the iron when it was red. There was also an anvil and a bellows
