O Paddy is it you dear ¶ Drunk drunk again...

    I
O Paddy is it you dear
    Drunk drunk again
I fear you'll ruin the day
You are the worst of men.
I saw you in the hall
And I thought your bones would break
I knew twas you that staggered
A word you could not speak.
    II
Last night there was no bread
And the children had to fast
They cried till they were tired
And went to bed at last.
    III
    I searched the public houses
And I looked into the room
O Paddy aren't you the devil
    Whiskey is your ruin.
