  1. St Bridgets day falls on the first of February. It is not a holiday of obligation. On that night the little girls go from house to house collecting pennies. Sometimes the girls bring dolls with them and the people give them money. The children says a rhyme they say:-
    Oidhche Féile Brigde Bricín baín an chluas de'n toirtín agus tabhair a sáíth do'n dailt
