  1. There was a pedlar going around here long ago named Horsehair. This was his nickname but nobody around here knew his right name. He usually sold brooches and little pictures & badges & little articles of luxury. He would take horsehair or old-rags in exchange for some of his goods. Sometimes the people would give him lodgings for the night. He would come around here about
