“Once upon a time there was a famous singer living in this district”
Once upon a time there was a famous singer living in this districk. His name was Johny Ellen. He was called this because his mothers name was Ellen. Every night the lads of the village used to gather into his house and he would entertain them by his songs. His favourite song was the Old plaid Shawl, & these are a few verses of it.(continues on next page)
