  1. Seán a sagart was a priest hunter who lived un Ballyhane, in the penal days. His real name was John Maloney. His duty was to kill priests and to bring there heads into Castlebar and show Barret who would give him five pounds for each head. There is a old hole in Ballyburke called Lochán na gCeann and it is said he used to throw the heads in there.
