  1. St Bridgid was one of our Irish Saints and her feasts day comes every year on the second of Feburary and she was also very kind to the poor. Long ago on St Bridgid night all the young boys and girls bewteen ten and twelve years used to gather to their neighbours house and dress a doll and the eldest of the girls would carry the doll from house to house, and they used to have great fun.
