  1. St Bridgets feast falls every year on the first of February. It is not a holiday of obligation. There are a great many customs here and there through the country. Long ago little girls used to dress up and they would get a broom and they used to go from house to house, on St Bridges Eave. But nowadays little girls get a doll and the call it the Brídeóg and they go from house to house collecting money in honour of St Bridget.
