  1. About 60 years ago there existed in Co. Limerick two factories called the three year olds and the four year olds. At every fair and race meeting the day would end up in a free fight often lasting for hours and in which the women would join the men of their clan the women using a stocking with a boulder of stone shoved into it and the men were using stout blackthorns. The fight would start by one of the clan shouting at his loudest his own name the name of his clan and the names of members of the clan. The mention
