  1. Proverbs are wise old sayings of which the following are a few of the many:
    A stitch in times saves nine.
    There's many a slip twext the cup and the lip.
    Fools make feasts and wise men eat them.
    Where ignorance is bliss it's folly to be wise.
    Despite school and remain a fool.
    Second thoughts are often best.
    Who never tries, cannot win the prize.
    Small beginnings may lead to large ends.
    Too late to spare when all is spent.
    When the old cock crows the young cock learns.
