    It is said that a priest from Newmarket visited lug a' Baile and he caused the dog to disappear.

    A quarell arose in a bog between two men

    A quarrel arose in a bog between two men. One man struck the other with a shovel, and killed him. The murderer was so amazed and bewildered that he hastily disposed of the dead body by burying it in a bog hole. The poor unfortunate man knew no peace of mind afterwards, and to seek some relief he left the district.
    Twenty years afterwards people were engaged in turf cutting in the same bog. They came upon the corpse of the man that was killed twenty years previous. The corpse was as fresh as if death had only taken place the day previous. The police were informed, and an inquest was arranged. Eleven men were assembled
