    There was a woman in Newmarket-on-Fergus and she dreamt that there was gold hid in lug a' bhaile.

    There was a woman in Newmarket on Fergus and she dreamt that there was gold hid in lug a' bhaile. Lug a' baile is in the Dromsland Estate. Two men, one night, brought the woman with them to identify the spot, so that they may proceed to delve for the hidden treasure. No sooner had they reached the spot, than the woman was tossed about, and dashed to the ground. She screamed and shouted and roared that a fierce dog was attacking her. The two men were unable to see any dog. The woman so persisted in her screams that the men were forced to bring her home.
    The men again persuaded the woman to accompany them. This time they brought holy water with them. The men kept a firm grip on the woman, but she was thrown from them, and screamed in terror of the dog as before. The men could not see the dog. They shook holy water in the direction where the woman said she saw the dog. The men then heard
