    About forty years ago lived Mr John Blood in Ballykilty. Every Christmas Night he used to open the entrance gate to his demesne. A noiseless coach and four used to career through the avenue and enter the house, and proceed to the parlour and disappear through the window.
    Mrs Hehir was herself passing the Entrance Gate one Christmas Eve late and she saw the tallest man she ever saw sitting on a stile convenient to the gate.
    Mr Salmon who was not easily frightened, having been in the English Army, and having spent some time in America, had a strange experience in Ballykilty one night.
    Mr Salmon was fond of poaching rabbits. Ballykilty was preserved and a strict watch was kept by the police during the day time. One night Bill Salmon went "to poach" some rabbits. He was in the act of releasing a rabbit from a trap, when
