    The Smith and the forge.
    There are two forges in this parish.Mr.Ryan is the owner of one.the forge is in the Weaver's road.Mr O Neill is the owner of the other.His forge is on the Ennis road.One of them is slated and the other is covered with zinc.there are timber doors in both of them.
    There is a bellows in each forge to blow up the fires.There is a trough of water near the fire to cool the red irons.
    The Smith puts shoes on asses and horses and he repairs ploughs ,spades, shovels ,pots, and other iron things.
