    time when tithes were being paid, Divine Service used to be held in the Protestant Church near Punchbowl Cross in Meelick This service has been discontinued. The Minister that held the service had the tithes discontinued.

  2. There was a landlord's agent in this parish once whose name was Mr Keane The Marquis Conyngham owned the whole property of Meelick. Mr. Keane lived in Beechpark, Ennis, Co Clare. He evicted 70 families in Meelick in one week and he had not much luck for it, for he died roaring like an ass. After that came the land purchase and after a certain number of years every man owned his own land.
