  1. The people long ago never wore boots until they were twenty years of age. When they would get a new pair of boots, they would leave them on that night they would be so delighted with them.
    When the people were going to town they used to carry their boots under their arms so that they would not be wearing them. Now the children are wearing boots always, except in Summer the poor children go barefooted.
