    "Buttermaking"
    All farmers keep a certain number of cows according to the extent of their estate.At the present day farmers with large tracts of land send their milk to the creameries.
    The farmers having but small tracts of land extract the butter from the milk at home in their own dairies. At present most farmers have separators ,but in some places the old method is still practised. The old method was to set the milk in shallow pans and let it rest for twenty-four hours,and in that time the cream raised to the top.After a week's cream was collected it was then collected and put into a churn which was generally of a dash make.
