  1. Long ago the people used make their own candles. They used to have a moud the shape of the candle, and they used to collect the fat of animals and melt it. When it was melted they used to spill it into the mould and leave it there to cool. When it was cool it was drawn out and used as a candle.

  2. the people of old used also make basket of ozier rods. These were used for carrying in potatoes, putting out turf, and also for putting out manure. The people who were noted for making in this locality were Martin Fahy + Martin Morrisey. The latter used also make ladies shopping baskets.
