    The marriages used to occur in Shrove.They used to give stock and money as fortune.If the bride got a fortune the land was walked sometimes before the marriage .The party used to go to the bride's house where many geese were ready for supper after which they had a dance .It is said when they were coming home on horse back that people should throw rice or flour at them in order to have luck.It is said the bride should have "something old,something new,something borrowed ,and something blue ".It is said the boys dressed in straw used to come and dance with the bride.
