    Bohar na Corp.
This is the name of a very old road (long disused) that passes by Clooney Graveyard.it is the old road that led long ago from Limerick through Clooney, Spancilhill, Gort and to Galway. The site of inns of the old days are pointed out locally at Donnellan's Cross, and Spancilhill.
It is said that when Ludlow made one of his raids in Clare he came by this road.A great battle took place on that spot near the old castle.between the local chiefs and the soldiers of Ludlow .So many corpses were left on the road that it was called "Bohar na gcorp"or the road of the corpses .A few years ago when workmen were making fences for The Land Commission they came upon a large quantity of human remains at this very spot.
