- A Griddle
A Griddle is a flat round metal plate 12" to 18" in diameter with a handle on each side.
- A Brand.
Brands are made in different sizes .Some are round and others three cornered with a leg at each corner.They were made of iron, a small one (usually round) to hold a "skillet"(small pot)griddle,or a small oven .The larger ones to hold larger pots or cream tubs.When more than one pot was required to boil at the same time,the extra pots were put on brands beside the fire with coals under them.they were made at the forge by the blacksmith and were a couple were to be found in(continues on next page)
